Abstract
An LD module with a directly modulated Z-cut quartz Fabry-Perot resonator as a frequency reference has been developed for coherent communication. The output frequency can be selected over a continuous spectral range during manufacture by adjusting the incidence angle on the resonator. The frequency deviation of the LD module is +or-50 MHz (0-50 degrees C).
