Abstract :
After returning from our annual conference (ISCAS), which was held recently in Houston, it is my pleasure to report to you that it was a great success. The program was well received. It gave an excellent insight into the many activities of our members and pointed out the trend in theory, education and applications of many areas in which our Society is involved in. The attendance reached a record "high" of about 750 people, many of whom came from Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe and the Middle East. The atmosphere was as usual informal, friendly and conducive to the exchange of ideas. I am sure that every one who attended the conference will join me in expressing our appreciation and thanks to Rui de Figueiredo, the General Chairman, and Ted Bickert, the Program Chairman, as well as to all of their committee members for their dedicated efforts to make this conference such a success.
