  • Abstract
The Automated Universal Array system is a new, minimum-cost approach to generating custom LSI devices. It incorporates a specially developed fixed geometry design with an automatic layout program. With this system, custom LSI devices can be produced by generation of a single unique metal level, with the interconnections determined and optimized automatically. This paper describes the topological design of the AUA chip and the effectiveness of the fully automatic layout program.
