Candidates for Division I director

I am very pleased that the Newsletter and Magazine Editors of Division I have invited the Director candidates to communicate with the members of Division I. A little research and some guessing suggests that among the 34,000 memberships in our four societies (ASSP, CAS, CS, IT) there are 33% outside the U.S. and 25,000 people in all since some of us hold membership in more than one Division I Society. About 25% of us also subscribe to the IEEE Proceedings. Our Division tends to be strongly technically oriented with substantial interest in theoretical aspects of our fields. I believe this strong interest in technical matters is the main reason we belong to Division I Societies.
