Professional activities

The 1981 Program Plan of the USAB (Revised May 1) came in the mail earlier this summer. It gives detailed information on USAB organization and operations, plus budgetary and staffing lists, some of which I feel that I should pass on to you. Indeed, I have an impression from conversations and (a few) written communications that I have had with some of you, that the Society membership at large is not that well acquainted with what the USAB Professional Activities (PA) program is all about. Some quotes from the 1981 Program Plan should answer some of the questions I have been asked about the mandate and commitment of the USAB and should also, I trust, be of general interest to all of you.
