President´s report

In one of my previous reports, I boasted that 1983 is a banner year for CAS-sponsored conferences. Since this statement was written just after the very successful ISC AS ´83, my crystal ball and wishbone were my only connections to ICCAD ´83 and ICCD ´83. Now that ICCAD ´83 and ICCD ´83 are behind us, I can report that both were overwhelmingly successful; both had excellent technical programs and drew over 1000 enthusiastic attendees each. I can say, without too much fear of contradiction that the degrees of success achieved at ICCAD ´83 and ICCD ´83 were somewhat greater than many of us anticipated. I would like to congratulate John Golembeski and Bill McCalla (ICCAD ´83), Guy Rabbat and Hal Carter (ICCD ´83), and their respective committees for their marvelous successes.
