Abstract :
The Boots Company has operated a power station on the Beeston site in Nottingham for over 60 years. A new energy centre has been designed, constructed and commissioned. The energy centre provides all electricity, steam, compressed air and medium-pressure hot water for the site. Some conceptual and detailed decisions resolved during the project are outlined, including matters relating to plant selections, equipment specification, and control and monitoring philosophy.
