Abstract :
BEGINNING approximately in 1960, the interest for miniaturizing the circuitry for communication systems was pushed by the ongoing progress made in thin-film and semiconductor technology. A great obstacle in miniaturizating filter networks was the coil. Approaches, like the resistance-capacitance (RC) filter that avoided coils, showed unsatisfactory results.
