Abstract :
A cascadable 4 bit 3.4 GHz silicon bipolar shift register (SR) IC is presented. Parallel data entry and serial unidirectional data shift can be switched at up to 3.4 Gbit/s. A 6.8 Gbit/s word generator was built of the SR, XOR gates, and one 11.4 Gbit/s 2:1-MUX.
