Abstract :
A new type of chain code, called multiring differential chain coding (MRDCC) is introduced. The coding rate is calculated and compared with standard chain coding (SCC), generalised chain coding (GCC), and differential chain coding (DCC). MRDCC offers the highest efficiency. Experimental observations are in good agreement with the theoretical results.
