Abstract :
Nowadays, the technology of virtual reality develops more and more widely. Its applying range develops from the academic area to the field of engineering. At present, there are a great number of 3D modeling technologies, such as manual modeling with software (eg. 3DMax, AutoCAD), modeling through purchasing Lindar data and the DEM elevation data in a high cost. These technologies to complete 3D modeling are more mature, however there are disadvantages. The manual modeling is so cumbersome and the high consumption to purchase data could not satisfy the current social development´s requirement of low carbon and the environmental protection. According to these disadvantages, the paper proposes a new model to do 3D modeling through an image. The image could be obtained from the network. After image processing (such as edge detection, Hough transform), the data file which is used to finish modeling also could be got.
