Abstract :
Media relay technology can solve the problem of bandwidth competition and resource wasting in streaming media processing to some extent. This paper proposes a streaming media relay architecture based on multi-core processor (MC-MRU). MC-MRU is designed in a hierarchical software architecture including management plane and data plane respectively. The management plane is running on standard Linux operation system, and the data plane is running on a real-time system, namely simple executive (SE) environment. This architecture can reduce the system overheads caused by interrupt processing, memory copying and protocol processing, and promote the overall performance of media relay unit considerably.
