Abstract
To prevent the interference problem due to existing nearby communication systems within the UWB operating frequency, a compact dual-band-notched UWB antenna is presented. A novel modified complementary split-ring resonator (CSRR) is etched inside the inner patch to obtain a band-notched function. The proposed antenna occupies a compact area of 22 × 26 × mm2. The measurement results show that the proposed antenna can guarantee a wide bandwidth from 2.9 to 12 GHz (VSWR 2) with dual unwanted band notches. The antenna demonstrates omnidirectional radiation patterns across almost the whole operating bandwidth, which is useful for UWB application.
