Abstract :
Coupling characteristics of a new optical wavelength-flattened coupler with the Mach-Zehnder configuration are described. A coupling ratio of 20+or-1.9% in a wide wavelength region of 1.25 mu m-1.65 mu m is realised using silica waveguides on Si.
