Abstract :
A novel two-layer rectangular shorted patch antenna is described. The patch antenna is supported by a foam substrate. The resonant frequency is reduced by 71% when compared to that of a conventional patch antenna with the same projection area. The bandwidth (SWR<2) and gain are, respectively, 11% and 0 dBi
