            Abstract : 
The authors report the transmission of 2.5 Gbit/s NRZ signals over 62.5/125 μm multimode fibre (MMF) over lengths of 4.5 km with a bit rate-distance product in excess of 11 Gbit/s km using a centre launch technique. Low penalties were measured for all fibres with ±7 μm offset from the centre launch position
