Abstract :
A polarisation-independent wavelength converter using cascaded nonlinearities in periodically-poled LiNbO3 waveguides has been developed. The device uses a pump in the 1.5 μm band, has negligible polarisation sensitivity and a penalty of <0.5 dB at 10 Gbit/s
