  • Abstract
    The gain of a 1480 nm pumped erbium-doped fibre amplifier has been measured over the temperature range -40 degrees C to 60 degrees C. The characteristics can be modelled using emission and absorption cross-section data determined for this temperature range. The temperature dependence of the gain spectrum and noise figure are also predicted.
