The beginning of a new decade invariably prompts forecasters to look ahead in a 10-year “bite.” Sociologists, economists, and laymen alike enjoy the challenge of identifying each decade by characteristics which are at best simplistic and at worst erroneous. Were the “Gay ´90s” really that merry?
