Aerospace: Europe gets aboard the Shuttle: The European Space Agency´s Spacelab is making the dream of research in space come true

When Spacelab goes into Earth orbit two years from now, more than radically new hardware and improved methods for handling it will be at stake, it will also mark the start of an international scientific effort in which manned experiments will range from pure research in physics and other sciences to materials processing in space.
