  • Abstract
    A novel and robust noncontact measurement system which can be used to precisely locate physical discontinuities in workpiece surfaces is described. The system provides a cost effective alternative to the more generalised sensors used in industrial applications (e.g. welding) for this purpose, while retaining a number of advantageous characteristics of its own.
