Abstract :
The paper addresses the problem of where best to place sensors to locate sources of harmonics in power systems. The problem is approached by applying worst-case analysis in estimation theory. By examining radial distribution feeders and several fundamental lumped-parameter networks, it is shown that parallel capacitors are often the optimal measurement points
