Abstract :
Accessing two-dimensional data is an important requirement in many digital-signal-processing algorithms. Examples are matrix operations and two-dimensional filters. Existing DSP implementations do not address this problem adequately. In this letter, a two-dimensional addressing scheme is proposed for DSPs to simplify the programming effort for two-dimensional algorithms and to speed up the memory access of two-dimensional data.
