Abstract :
In this paper we will discuss about the development of IE4 level motor proposed by IEC, which is new target for international efficiencies. Efficiency classes IE1-IE4 are defined in international standard IEC 60034-30. The draft version of IEC 60034-31 defines the new class IE4. The IE-codes replaces the former voluntary Eff classification of electric motors as shown in Table I. The Eff classes are based on a voluntary agreement between the EU and the CEMEP in 1998.
