Abstract :
A revision of the variable total particle number of the PARMELA program is presented to fit the characteristics of a thermionic field emission cathode. The longitudinal space-charge spread and transverse space-charge effects are obviously changed. The trajectories, energy spectra, and time structure of the output currents with and without transverse magnetic fields were studied. The backbombarding energies for different magnetic fields are presented
