Abstract :
Wireless access to advanced communications services could offer significant advantages to future users requiring high transmission rates and an increased freedom of mobility. The purpose of this paper is to present a view of the nature of broad-band services that will be accessed through future indoor wireless systems based on microcells, as well as the underlying challenges, both architectural and technological.
