Abstract :
This paper presents a novel targeted magnetic fluid hyperthermia system. It consists of 12 coils which are deployed symmetrically in the space surrounding the patient. By injecting dc currents to all these coils, and selectively superimposing high frequency ac currents into several coils according to the location of the target point, it is possible to generate a high-frequency alternating magnetic field in the tumor area to heat the nano-particles, so as to kill the tumor cells, while, at the same time, builds up a static magnetic field in the surrounding area to protect the healthy tissues from thermal damage.
