Abstract :
A class text is a very personal choice. The reviewer feels this book is certainly worth considering - particularly if your course emphasizes the analytical modellng of electromechanical, thermal, and fluid-dynamic components, or if you want an introductory text that also includes some more advanced material on multiloop, multivariable, and optimal (even H) approaches. One especially positive feature is the inclusion of solutions to selected end-of-chapter problems, which is always a big plus with students and anyone attempting to use a text for self-study. The author still suspects that many instructors will continue to prefer the pedagogical approach of one of the well-known (if less comprehensive) classics.
