Abstract
The issue of design of motor core is that the estimated iron losses and measured ones are sometimes different. One of the causes is the magnetic deterioration of electrical steel sheet by bolt bundles, etc. We measured the magnetic properties when the compressive stress in thickness direction is impressed on the nonoriented electrical steel sheet. In this paper, magnetic properties of ring, semicircular ring, strip of nonoriented electrical steel sheet under the compressive stress in thickness direction are measured. The different behavior of magnetic properties of various specimens are discussed. It is shown that the iron loss of semicircular ring specimen can be reduced under compressive stress.
