    Analogue adaptive filters represent an important niche in adaptive-filter theory and practice. The paper provides an overview of the field. Important adaptive algorithms, filter structures, circuit techniques and applications are all discussed. Considerable attention is paid to historically significant developments which have provided a foundation for modern analogue adaptive filters. Future directions are also surmised
