Abstract :
Block adaptation techniques are investigated by computer simulation for decision feedback equalization on a rapidly fading dispersive channel. Trade-offs between training sequence length and block length are found. Block adaptation supplemented by linear interpolation of coefficients is found to be an attractive alternative to more complex continuously-adapting recursive least squares adaption algorithms.
