Abstract
Compact high-voltage Marx generators have found wide ranging applications for driving resistive and capacitive loads. Parasitic or leakage capacitance in compact low-energy Marx systems has proved useful in driving resistive loads, but it can be detrimental when driving capacitive loads where it limits the efficiency of energy transfer to the load capacitance. In this paper, we show how manipulating network designs consisting of these parasitic elements along with internal and external components can optimize the performance of such systems.
