Abstract :
Modern aircraft are becoming increasingly dependent on electricity to keep them safely airborne. As a result, aircraft electrical generation systems must guarantee the integrity of the supply under all foreseeable fault and environmental conditions. This article describes atypical, high-performance, military system and its major components. The automatic operation of the system under both normal and fault conditions is explained. The adverse environment and the equipment weight and cooling requirements greatly influence the design, and the article ends with consideration of these factors
