Abstract
We simulated many-channel, wavelength-division-multiplexed optical fiber transmission systems by following the full time-domain evolution for only a few channels around a target channel, white treating the rest of the channels as continuous-wave radiation. We show a good agreement between our approach and full numerical simulations. By using our approach, one can greatly reduce the computation time compared with full simulations.
