Abstract :
Nonlinear optical properties of high-Δ, small-core single-mode fibres were investigated. Results indicated that such fibres have low stimulated Raman scattering critical powers and large frequency chirping. In addition, 43% coupling efficiency was achieved in the direct coupling between high-Δ fibres and an edge-emitting LED
