Abstract :
First sums up the results of an investigation made with Canadian electrical companies in order to evaluate the needs and applications of fiber optics. The paper defines the structure of an experimental installation which uses fiber optics, and then shows the system, giving certain technical details about the physical installation, equipment and on its functioning. Finally some results are given.
