Abstract :
The author aims in this book to use, adapt, and extend the techniques developed by researchers in the digital signal processing field to the area of digital control. This crossing of disciplines is possible since a digital control system can be viewed as a digital filter embedded in a feedback loop through a controlled plant. Thus, many of the results of digital signal processing theorists such as filter structures, finite wordlength effects, and pipelining, can be used. However, the author must adapt these results since the control system´s external feedback adds new twists.
