Abstract :
A new configuration is proposed for indoor optical wireless communication systems. The main features are the use of spot diffusing, multiple lines of sight and fly-eye receivers. Design issues such as the power budget, ambient-light interference and farsighted-eye designs for the receivers are discussed using simple models. An experimental set-up demonstrating the feasibility of the spot-diffusing concept is also described.
