Improvement of encoder for matching-pursuit-based video coding

Although matching-pursuit-based video coding has many advantages, a theoretically based encoder requires a lot of time to search for the best matched atoms in an overcomplete dictionary. Fast searching strategies are presented for reducing the cost spent in looking for `best´ atoms, thus greatly improving the performance of the encoder
