Abstract :
Temperature-independent 80 Gbit/s optical time-division-multiplexed signal transmission using a 168 km zero-dispersion-flattened transmission line has been successfully demonstrated over a 50°C temperature range. The temperature-coefficient of the average dispersion of the transmission line was 1.2×10-5ps/nm/km/°C while that of a conventional dispersion-shifted fibre was 2.1×10-3ps/nm/km/°C
