Abstract :
Three-dimensional parabolic equation algorithms based on Pade finite difference schemes are used in combination with models for the scattering and diffraction of radiowaves by buildings. The Pade (1,1) scheme allows easy input of non-homogeneous boundary conditions, while the Pade (2,1) scheme has very good stability properties which can deal with discontinuities in the initial field, for example at building edges. Excellent agreement with physical optics calculations is obtained
