Abstract
A nonlinear model of the ring oscillator is proposed. The oscillations are related to the irregularity or the kink-formed solitary wave, that is, an elementary phenomenon in a nonlinear system. According to the proposed model, we found that the higher harmonic generation cannot exist when the total number of stages is five or less
