Abstract :
A device is described which offers a simple way to adjust any state of polarization in a single-mode fiber. This is done through deliberate generation of birefringence in the fiber. This polarization transformer is an excellent configuration for simple adjustment of the desired polarization state in single-mode fibers. The advantages are simple setup without precision production requirements and insensitivity to poor fiber quality because of the iterative adjustment process.<>
