Abstract :
A new and more powerful algorithm combining Kirchhoff approximation (KA) with the hybrid finite element-boundary integral (FE-BI) method is presented to study the interactions between an inhomogeneous object and the underlying sea surface. This hybrid FE-BI-KA scheme is an improved and generalised version of the previous KA-MoM. A reduced model composed of a PEC object above the conducting sea surface is simulated to evaluate the validity of the multi-hybrid technique by comparing with MoM. Then the bistatic scattering pattern of a more complex layered object above the dielectric sea surface is calculated at different wind speeds.
