Abstract
This paper presents a simple space vector approach for the generation of different switching sequences such as Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM), Basic Bus Clamping PWM (BBCPWM) and Advanced Bus Clamping PWM (ABCPWM) algorithms with reduced complexity. It brings out alikeness between the carrier comparison and space vector approaches. The conventional space vector approach requires calculation of sector and angle information which is a complex procedure. For simplicity the proposed space vector approach generates pulses using instantaneous phase voltages only. To validate the proposed algorithm simulation studies have been carried on v/f controlled induction motor drive at various modulation indices and the results are presented. The results show the good agreement with the proposed work.
