Abstract
Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) technology provides an effective solution to achieve reduced fuel emission, energy saving and better performance. Hybrid electric vehicles utilize two or more sources of power for propulsion. The power sources could be any combination of photovoltaic cell, fuel cell, on-board battery, etc. While using two or more sources there is a need to utilize each source in its most efficient region. It is also necessary to use a power source which is readily available at low cost without compromising the requirements of the drive. To accommodate these power sources Multiple Input Power Electronic Converters (MIPEC) are used. This paper proposes a non-isolated MIPEC with four ports and a controller to obtain best available power from each source.
