Abstract :
Improvement on the nonreflective locating accuracy is still a problem for short pulse duration of an OTDR. When the reflected term is considered, with the novel judgment function proposed in this letter, such problems can be solved. The locating precision could not exceed 1 m for OTDR pulse duration of 100 ns and 0.4 m for 50 ns.
