Many people have yet to hear of application service providers, but this new breed of company is already seeking to transform the world of corporate software. Industry watchers, in fact, are saying that the providers are the next step in the evolution of the information technology business and that their success will in the future alter the way all companies obtain and use software, whether enterprise resource management packages, spreadsheets, or even word-processing applications
