Abstract
An optimal channel partitioning scheme that maximizes the channel utilization of low earth orbit mobile satellite systems serving multiclass traffic is presented. To this aim, the channel utilization was analytically derived and used as revenue function for the proposed optimization algorithm. The accuracy of the analysis and the effectiveness of the proposed optimization technique were verified by computer simulations.
