  • Abstract
    We have built an inexpensive, room temperature continuous wave electron linear accelerator which is compact, reliable, and safe and can form the basis of a mobile irradiation unit which will produce 0.5-2.0 MeV, 10-30 mA, 10-30 kW electron beams. We have improved our present CWEL by: (1) decreasing the injection energy and eliminating the bunching system; (2) maximizing the shunt impedance; and (3) simplifying the RF power supply system. We present our CWEL experimentally and sketch our modified design
